There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel – or so the optimists say.

Henry wasn’t, so he held no such belief as their group crept through the dark tunnel. There were less of them than when they had started.

“There’s a light at–”

“There’s no time for your optimistic bullshit, Manny.” Henry bites out.

“No, look Henry.” Manny points to the front where a light can be seen and rushes off.

Gunshots sounded, emphasizing Henry’s realistic view of the world. The light at the end of the tunnel did not necessarily hold something good.
