“I… had that dream again.” Naruzil says, troubled.

“The White World…” She rasped.

“Yes, Elder of the Yggdrasil.” Naruzil head is bowed out of respect and the burden of these ‘dreams’. “The beings looked happy… and at peace.”

“There are many worlds out there, my child.” The Elder says. “Perhaps what you see is the far future. Come.” She takes him to the Great Tree. “Give your troubles to Yggdrasil and be free.”

Naruzil sighed and repeated the task he had been doing since the dreams began. He didn’t feel free afterwards, but he didn’t know what else to do.

  1. I wondered if this was inspired by this week’s discovery of an exoplanet? It’s interesting to imagine aliens thinking about us whilst we’re thinking about them.
    Good piece.

  2. Heh, maybe the dream was about Neanderthals in the last ice age… or other people in a future ice age… interesting dream, and intriguing connection to Norse mythology. I like it, the story has a very mysterious, fairy-tale ‘feel’.
