Once upon a time, there lived a little girl in a small village in the countryside. At her age, she already delighted in the world written on the pages of the countless books her father gifted to her. While others ran and played outside in childish glee, she reduced those activities to a minimum, choosing instead to dive into the world of fantasy. The library at her primary school hosted an average amount of resources to entertain her young and unending appetite. From Goosebumps and Fear Family to The Secret Garden, she couldn’t get enough. It was a whole new world to her — one that had more to offer than the real one. Perhaps, even at that young age, she already sought an escape from life. And so she began writing, crafting her own world… delighting in the places her imagination could take her.

High school provided her with a wider array to choose from. Ancient history held a strange fascination for her. But even so, the girl (let’s call her N) found herself losing interest. There was only so much of romance you can read before they all become the same. Even so, once you love something very much, you can’t really leave it behind and so one book at a time, she forged ahead…seeking a new world.

Eventually, she discovered a world so beautiful that to this day she doesn’t understand how some cannot see it as so. It was the world of manga and anime. Here was a world more delightful that the usual. Here was a language that sweeps her off her feet, carrying her through the Sengoku Eras and even to the possible futures. And as she delved even deeper into the Asian side of things, her waned desire to write sparked back to life. (Don’t underestimate the power of fanfiction! 😀 ) And so with the encouragement of her family and friends, she continues to delve into the world of fiction (Hello King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. It’s been a while.).

Now for the boring stuff…Hello everyone. I’m Nafeeza from Guyana, South America and I’m aspiring to be an author. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I created this site as a means to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone, overcome my struggles with muse (Muse O’ Muse! Where forth art thou?) and create an author’s presence. I hope you enjoy my writing and I look forward to your honest critiques.

My interest (in case you couldn’t tell) mainly lies in Asian Arts and Culture, especially Japan’s.
